For almost four decades now, MBEF has been an advocate for our schools – raising critical funds to support public education in ways that state funding does not. Since 1983, MBEF has directed over $80 million to fund programs throughout our District to support academic excellence and enrichment. For the current year, MBEF will grant $7.5 million to MBUSD. This funding includes additional money raised to bring back educator positions that were cut in late February.
It is important to note that we cannot do this without community support – particularly from parents. In order to sustain the programs we have come to rely upon, and support future priorities, we must continue to raise funding through our Annual Appeal and other initiatives each year. This is not an easy task – especially in the current climate of a global pandemic and distance learning. We all have our challenges ahead of us!
