<My Background>
I have been in education for 21 years and have worked with diverse backgrounds. I received my B.A., Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, and GATE Certificate from the University of California, Riverside. I have experience in all grade levels (except kindergarten), but have found my passion to be 4th grade curriculum. I have worked as a Title I Resource Specialist working with students scoring below grade level in the areas of reading and writing. I have served as G.A.T.E. Site Coordinator running gifted and talented workshops and focusing on differentiation. I have also had the pleasure of serving as a Mentor Teacher, working with new teachers, as they complete clinical hours in the classroom to earn their teaching credential.
<My Philosophy>
I am passionate about teaching! I believe all children can succeed. It is my job to model and inspire each child to become a life-long learner. Each and every child has unique gifts to share with the world. I believe in differentiated instruction to meet each child's individual needs. I plan to combine theory and practice in our classroom to provide a friendly, engaging, and challenging learning environment.
<My Family>
My husband, Sean, and I have two wonderful adult children; Karissa and Trevor. Karissa is enjoying being a new mom to her adorable son, Alexander. She loves to paint and sketch when she has free time. Trevor is a freshman in college and enjoys playing football. We love to spend our free time attending sporting events, cheering on the Green Bay Packers, and barbecuing.
